General Facts

Simon started his first butchery business in 1986 in the Perthshire village of Dunning

There are now two Simon Howie retail shops in Perth and Auchterarder

Over time Simon Howie Butchers started to supply the UK's leading chefs, hotels and catering establishments

Moved to a purpose built factory in 1998 supplying product both regionally and nationally to meet demand

The factory was extended to 30,000sq ft in 2003

In 2001, Simon Howie Foods launched a division of Simon Howie Butchers. This was a solution to the growing need for quality butchery products and an added range of chef prepared products

In 2001 started a trial with Simon Howie branded counters in a few of Sainsbury's Scottish stores and in May 2003 this concept was rolled out to all of Sainsbury's Scottish stores that had a meat counter

Also In 2001, packaged products were supplied to other multiple retailers including Morrisons and Somerfield

Our turnover is now over £7m, and our company employs over 75 people in Perthshire
